Banks push for greater adoption of two-way CSAs

While recent initiatives by the Bank of England (BoE) have prompted a gradual shift in collateral trends, banks are frustrated with the slow pace of change and are calling for more central banks, sovereigns and supranationals to post collateral to counterparties when trading derivatives.

The BoE announced in June 2012 it would start posting collateral to its counterparties in over-the-counter derivatives trades. It said the decision was taken for commercial reasons – dealers continue to face
