Refinitiv to keep Klibor contract with Bank Negara Malaysia
The firm will continue to administer the country’s interest rate benchmark
Refinitiv is set to remain the calculation and distribution agent of Malaysia’s interest rate benchmark, the Kuala Lumpur Interbank Offered Rate (Klibor), following a decision by the country’s central bank to extend the firm’s contract.
Refinitiv, the former Financial & Risk unit of Thomson Reuters (TR), announced the deal with Bank Negara Malaysia in mid-February, stating that it will continue to compute the benchmark interest rate in Malaysia.
