LCH.Clearnet chief executive Ian Axe has reiterated the firm's intention to launch a foreign exchange clearing service, as it looks to position itself as a multi-asset class clearer.

The London-based clearing house has been working for some time on a foreign exchange platform, dubbed ForexClear. The offering is widely expected to start with forex options, and was initially slated for this year, but Axe says the precise details of the service and the timing of the launch have yet to be decided.
